SUGAR LOAF (4h tour) This mountain is one of the most important Brazilian symbol from Rio de Janeiro in all over the world. Localized at Urca; keeps the entrance of Guanabara Bay. Its first part (Red Beach - Urca Mountain) was inaugurated on October 12th 1912, and the second one (Urca Mountain - Sugar Loaf) on January 18th 1913. The go up to get to the top of Sugar Loaf is divided in two parts by modern cablecars, with capacity to take 75 persons. From here you´ll have a wonderful view from beauty of Zona Sul geography. Total height of the monument: 124feet, and the height of the Christ statue: 92 feet. The body and arms of Christ statue are an engineering work, and the head and hands are sculptures.
